Count Lopinot Historical Site
Visit the Count Lopinot Historical Site to meet Mr. Martin Gomez, local folklorist and entertainer. Mr. Gomez relates the history of the Count and the village. He will share about the various peoples that populated the valley even before Count Lopinot settled here. Tour closes with interactive Parang Music as guests have an opportunity to play percussion instruments.
Guided Nature Trail Walk
Take a guided walk along the nature trail which is located at the rear of the property. Learn about trees, plants and flowers that can be found in the forest surrounding this picturesque village. Walk through a chaarral of very large rocks.
Tree to Bar Chocolate Demo
Experience first hand from a local Chocolate Maker how chocolate is made at Café Mariposa. Toryven is the brand of Single Estate Chocolates made here. Toryven is named in honour of our parents. The process is artisanal and the bars are hand-wrapped. Learn about cocoa processing, what was done in the past and what is done now; what it may hold for our future. See some antique instruments used in Cocoa Processing and learn how they are used. Discover the position that the flavour profile of Trinidad Cocoa has on a Global scale. Finally, witness the how to Dance the Cocoa. On completion of the tour, each participant will be given a sample of the Toryven 70% Dark Chocolate.
